Reaper brings the Boneyard Tour to Nova SD on June 12, and San Diego gets one of the more interesting bills of the year.
The REAPER project has been one of the more quietly unstoppable things in North American drum and bass -- a sound that sits at the intersection of bass weight and genre fluency, with a touring footprint that's moved well beyond the underground. The Boneyard 360 concept has been running rooms hard across the continent, and Nova is the local stop.
The headlining b2b is worth paying attention to. Bensley has been a fixture on RAM, Monstercat, and Deadbeats since Andy C flagged him early, and his productions carry a musicality that's rare on the dancefloor end of things. Justin Hawkes -- formerly Flite -- brings a different kind of range to the pairing, someone capable of spanning soft melodic territory to sheer dancefloor pressure, and the two have genuine studio history together. A b2b between them isn't a novelty booking. There's shared language there.
Crumb Pit holds down support. San Diego's own Quintessa rounds out the lineup.
